HBF Customer Satisfaction

The National New Homes Customer Satisfaction Survey and HBF Star Rating scheme is the established barometer of performance for UK home builders, with two decades worth of rich data.

The scheme launched in 2005 and is one of the UK’s most comprehensive industry research initiatives. Conducted annually, the survey gathers feedback from new build home buyers to assess home builder performance, drive improvements, and enhance customer service.
Participating home builders are subsequently awarded an HBF Star Rating based on the feedback received. The results of the survey and star ratings are published each March.

The survey helps buyers make informed decisions while driving industry-wide improvements. The scoring bands for star rating results are based on responses to the ‘Would you recommend your builder to a friend?’ question. Star ratings are allocated according to the proportion responding ‘Yes’ (i.e. they would recommend their builder to a friend). Organisations that achieve over 90% ‘Yes’ responses are subsequently awarded 5-star status.
Amethyst Homes have been eligible in participating in the scheme since 2023. In our first year, we achieved the 5 star status, which we maintained the following year. A real testimony to our dedication to providing a customer journey we can all be proud of. eir journey with us.

Inhouse Customer Satisfaction

In-house have been conducting customer experience surveys by telephone for the last 25 years. Over that time, they have helped over 100 top UK developers and housebuilders to monitor and improve their customer experience. Trusted by over 70% of the UK’s largest housebuilders and 5 of the 10 largest social housing landlords, they turn insights into better outcomes.

Their surveys, called Voice of the Customer, are full of in-depth customer comments and with a high response rate, the benefit is that not only do you get trusted results, but results you see through the eyes of the customer.

Voice of the Customer surveys are now also accredited by the New Homes Quality Board, raising the status of these within the industry.

Since engaging the services of In-house 3 years ago, Amethyst Homes have achieved Gold Star status in every year of participation. This demonstrates the commitment to our customers, with a clear focus on ensuring that their buying journey with us is as good as it possibly can be.

With more than 25 years of warranty and building control experience, Premier Guarantee understands the complexities and challenges of the build process. As a leading structural warranty provider, they have a comprehensive range of products to support the whole development process.

As part of this service, Premier Guarantee are proud to celebrate the highest quality developers and builders in their awards programme. The prestigious Excellence Awards celebrate the very best our industry has to offer.
Premier Guarantee work side-by-side with developers to ensure homes are built to the very best standards. Every month, developers who consistently deliver quality workmanship and site management are awarded a Quality Recognition Award (QRA). To be in the running, a site needs to have reached the highest standards and scores over a minimum six month period.

QRA winners are announced every month from January-December and presented with a certificate on site. Amethyst Homes are no stranger to awards success, with Regents Park and The Meadows developments in Stillington achieving QRA accolades annually since 2021. This demonstrates our commitment to producing a quality product which meets a high standard of finish.

Winning sites act as a longlist and are automatically put into their respective category for the chance to win an Excellence Award (EA) which are awarded annually. The top sites from each category are shortlisted for the EAs and put forward for final judging. Winners are then presented with the prestigious Excellence Awards trophy.

In 2023, we were delighted that our Regents Park development in Consett County Durham, was recognised, winning a national Excellence Award. Winning the Development of the Year (101 plus plots) North, was a real testimony to the whole site team and all staff at Amethyst Homes who are dedicated in creating quality homes and delivering excellent customer care.

27 developments countrywide were shortlisted for the Excellence Award, with just eight, including Amethyst Homes achieving a title.
