Amethyst Homes site manager Anton Chilton is trading his safety boots for running shoes to tackle the world’s biggest half marathon with a sub-two-hour finish time goal.
Anton, who manages our Vallum Heights development in Newcastle, will join tens of thousands of runners on the iconic 13.1-mile Great North Run (GNR) route from Newcastle to South Shields. Known for his precision and commitment to building high quality homes, he is bringing that same work ethic and dedication to his training.
Said Anton: “This will be my second time doing the GNR. I started running before the 2025 Great North Run with a goal to lose weight and get back to my former fitness and set myself a goal of completing it. Since then, I have been enjoying pushing myself for new challenges.
“I completed the Lake District ultra-marathon in June, then Total Warrior this year, and I’ve just done the Great North 10k. I also have a 26 mile walk/run for Alzheimer’s at the end of July. Looking ahead, I am already planning to sign up for another Ultra Marathon next year!”
