This top-tier accreditation is reserved for housebuilders who deliver a quality product (home) and aftercare service. For Amethyst Homes, this milestone reflects a consistent dedication to quality and service since first becoming eligible for the HBF survey in 2023.
A Reflection of quality and care
The HBF Star ratings have undergone a significant shift in 2026, moving toward a more rigorous, data driven scoring system. Rather than relying on a single recommendation, ratings are now calculated by averaging the scores from two key questions asked in both the eight week and nine month National New Homes Customer Satisfaction Surveys, that buyers receive once living in their new home.
By assessing homeowner satisfaction regarding both the build quality of the property and the level of aftersales service received, the new system provides a comprehensive view of a builder’s long term performance. These four scores are marked on a scale of 1 (very dissatisfied) to 5 (very satisfied), with the resulting average determining the final star rating and ensuring a higher standard of consistency across the industry.
